About Me

Welcome to HappySysAdm.com

My name is Carlo and I am a Senior Systems Administrator with close to 15 years experience in designing, scripting, monitoring and performance tuning Microsoft environments, starting from Windows 3.1/95/NT4 to Windows 2008 R2. Along all these years I worked in many countries (Italy, France, England, Sweden, Cambodia) and went through a bunch of Microsoft certifications: MCP, MCSE, MCDBA… I also had the occasion to develop skills on HP-OV/NNM and became a HP OpenView Certified Consultant in 2004. In 2012, after working for four years in administering virtualized environments, I made the jump and got my VMWare Certified Professional 5 (VCP5) certification. Last but not least, in 2009 I made friend with Powershell and I quickly became a big fan of one-liners. Over the years I took part in the Scripting Games, first as a competitor – and I was one of the winners in 2014 – then as a coach. Today I am the organizer of the PowerShell Oneliner Contest.

In 2010 I started this blog. Why I do it? Many reasons come to my mind. I do it because writing about technical issues I encounter and about the solutions I find helps me to better understand and remember. I do it because sharing my views on computer technology makes me feel like I am contributing to the future evolution of technology itself. But the main reason for me to keep this blog updated is because I am always hoping for some readers to drop a comment and make this blog live. And this way make connections with other people who share my interests.

Needless to say, this blog is my own work and it does not represent the views of any corporation.
