Website use and analytics
The current public site has no reader registration, comment form, checkout or newsletter signup. Its search searches published content; search terms appear in the request URL, so do not enter confidential information. Hosting services process requests to deliver and protect the site, which may involve technical request and security logs.
Google Analytics helps us understand page use and interactions. When enabled, it receives website and device information under Google’s service policies. The site disables advertising consent, Google signals and ad personalisation in its tag configuration. This does not mean that every request is anonymous or that no data reaches an external provider.
Analytics is currently on by default unless this browser has a saved opt-out. Use Analytics settings in the footer to turn it off or change your preference. The Cookies and analytics page describes the cookies, two-year configured expiry and local preference storage.
Editorial correspondence
If you email the publication, your email provider and the publication’s mail service process the message. Your name, email address, message and attachments can be used to respond, investigate corrections and handle the enquiry. Send only relevant information; omit credentials, private customer records and sensitive logs.
The public website does not send your email correspondence to its Google Analytics tag. A corrected technical statement can be reflected in an article without publishing the private message that prompted it. Contact us before sending material requiring confidentiality arrangements.
External websites and service providers
Google Analytics, site hosting and email delivery are external services with their own processing arrangements. Following vendor or LinkedIn links takes you to another service governed by its own notice. The LinkedIn profile is an ordinary link, not an embedded social widget.
Product destinations currently have no enabled affiliate tracking. An external vendor can still process your visit under its own practices. The Affiliate Disclosure describes how a future compensated placement would be identified.
Retention and privacy requests
The browser’s analytics preference remains until changed or site data is cleared; configured analytics-cookie expiry is described on the Cookies page. Cookie expiry does not determine how long a provider retains information already received. Provider-side analytics retention, hosting-log retention and the mailbox deletion schedule are not established by the public site code. Contact the publication for the relevant current details.
To ask about information you sent, request access or correction, or raise an objection or deletion request, contact editorial@happysysadm.com and identify the relevant enquiry. Do not email identity documents unless a proportionate verification method has been agreed. Available rights and any exceptions depend on applicable law; you can also raise a concern with your relevant data protection authority.
This notice describes the observed website configuration. It does not certify that default-on analytics qualifies for a particular legal exception. The operator’s jurisdiction, applicable processing grounds and service-provider arrangements must be assessed alongside the website settings.
